The partnership of WEBCON & MCI Capital opens a new chapter of international expansion

WEBCON partners with MCI Capital, the leading Digital & ClimaTech Private Equity fund in Central and Eastern Europe. The fund’s majority stake acquisition marks a new chapter in the international expansion of the largest Polish low-code software producer.
Since 2006, WEBCON has been successfully building a leading position in the area of low-code technology enabling the agile creation of business applications and document workflows on the Polish market. The company pursues its international expansion strategy, growing its presence in foreign markets, and offering its platform to top enterprises in Europe and North America. With the WEBCON BPS platform, clients achieve digital transformation by effectively digitizing even the most complex business processes.
To speed up its international growth, the company began searching for a partner with experience in scaling and expanding technology businesses in foreign markets at the start of the year.

„It was a long and complicated transaction process that lasted for almost a year. We got initial offers from various investors, both domestic and foreign, but we only hand-picked a few who stayed in the process. MCI Capital, one of the most dynamic Private Equity groups in our region of Europe, had the most compatible vision and goals with ours” says Łukasz Wróbel, vice president & CBDO at WEBCON.

MCI Capital is one of the most rapidly growing Private Equity groups in the European region. MCI has backed over 100 companies since 1998 and has earned more than EUR 1 billion for its funds through successful exits. Its latest transaction was acquiring a majority stake in eSky, an online travel agency, in 2022.
The fund invests in the digital economy and climatech. It aims to increase the value of its portfolio companies by helping them achieve their business objectives. It leverages the MCI brand, the expertise of its professional team, and the best global practices.

„We are thrilled to partner with MCI, a fund with vast experience in supporting the international growth of technology companies. We see this investment as a partnership that will enable WEBCON to significantly scale up its operations, brand awareness, and revenues in key global markets” says Radosław Putek, founder and president of the management board of WEBCON.

„MCI has extensive experience in developing B2B companies offering their own software, as well as supporting companies in foreign expansion. Our current portfolio includes such B2B SaaS companies as: IAI Group – a leader in e-commerce solutions in Poland, and Focus Telecom Polska Sp. z o.o. – a leader in the CPaaS segment. We are glad that we will now be able to support WEBCON in scaling the company on key markets” comments Tomasz Czechowicz, managing partner at MCI

WEBCON is the dominant player in Poland and has been growing its sales in foreign markets for several years – especially in German-speaking regions and North America. MCI sees these markets as the main growth opportunities during the investment period.

„WEBCON has developed a low-code solution that has gained recognition among many Polish and foreign customers. The company operates in a fast-growing market that is driven by the global trend of organizational digitization. We see great potential in scaling up the company both in Poland and internationally, especially in German-speaking regions, where the company already derives a significant share of its sales. The company is also transitioning its sales model from perpetual licenses to subscriptions and SaaS. We aim to support and enhance the company in these areas” says Michał Górecki, senior investment partner at MCI.

„The investment from MCI Capital is a validation of both the quality of the business that we have built and the enormous potential of our phenomenal product that is highly valued by customers worldwide. We have always aimed to build a global company and I believe that we will achieve this goal with MCI Capital” says Łukasz Malina, vice president and member of the management board at WEBCON.

The management board and the company’s strategy remain unchanged, and aim to scale up the international operations and brand awareness in key markets.
WEBCON has a global presence with offices in Poland, Portugal, and North America. It cooperates with 73 partners who implement solutions on the WEBCON platform as part of an international channel network. The system serves over 1000 companies across five continents, including Polpharma, Mitsubishi Electric, Tauron, LPP, and Pratt & Whitney Canada. The company’s functionality and credibility have been recognized by global IT market analysts – WEBCON was the only Polish software provider featured in the Forrester Research report “Now Tech: Digital Process Automation”, among 43 leading providers of business process digitization technologies.
