Digital transformation – the perfect combination of technology, people, and culture

Digital transformation is not a one-off project – it’s a long-term commitment. The recipe for success requires cultural change, transparency, outstanding communication & the right tools in your technology toolbox. By adopting a digital-first mindset companies can empower employees to become the proactive members of the digital transformation journey. Easier said than done? Siren Knudsen, Head of Digital Transformation and IT at PURO Hotels, will share her insights on how to convince the unconvinced, foster openness to new IT solutions, and encourage employee involvement in business application development.

You will learn:

  • how to prepare the organization for changes related to digital transformation,
  • how to adopt an MVP approach to delivering apps, and involve employees in the continuous improvement process,
  • implementation example: how the procurement app became a real game-changer in the hotel chains’ operations.

11:25 – 11:35

WEBCON Best practices

The evolution of the digital transformation strategy in a secure banking environment

There’s a saying in Poland when somebody wants to assure someone that their case is a sure thing, they say “you’ve got it like at the bank”. And that’s how we’d describe the banking environment – every organization operating in this sector has to put security first, and deliver excellent value to its clients at all times. Today, when demand for electronic services is higher than ever, security is both – the #1 priority and a challenge for many companies, especially for those operating in the banking sector. Marcin Małek, Director of the Implementation Department, and Michał Polak, Senior IT Project Manager at Alior Bank, will share their experiences in building business applications in a complex banking environment when several demanding, security-related regulations need to be addressed.

From the presentation, you will:

  • learn how the organization ensured application environment security with the WEBCON BPS platform;
  • see what the implementation model can look like from both the architecture and the team’s competencies perspective;
  • discover unique deployment hacks implemented at Alior Bank.

12:00 – 12:10

WEBCON Best practices

A representative from Nexpertis, a company that is a Premium Partner of WEBCON, will share the implementation best practices that they applied in their project for Alior Bank.

Drive your ambition: How Automation Supports Japanese Values and Business Standards

The concept of continuous improvement, driven by the Japanese origin of the company, manifests as a pursuit of global corporate growth while supporting further employee development, regardless of their position. However, if an organization decides to implement a process-oriented culture, it needs both suitable tools and an IT department that understands and supports this mission. That’s why one of the world’s leading companies in the industrial automation and HVAC industry decided to reorganize its IT department and empower it with a low-code platform to make sure it would effectively support the business. During this session, Adrian Pałka, IT Department Manager at Mitsubishi Electric will shed some light on this process and on how to scale the effects of automation.

During the presentation, you will:

  • learn how a well-structured IT department can support empowerment and employee development,
  • see an example of the application facilitating credit limit requests for Mitsubishi Electric customers for 8 years, even in changing business conditions,
  • hear why low-code technology proved to be the optimal solution for constructing custom applications.

Solid foundations: how to create a reliable app infrastructure around an ERP system?

A well-thought IT infrastructure supports an organization not only when it comes to its day-to-day operations, but also when it grows and acquires new companies. This was the case when ECHO Investment acquired Archicom. Part of the process of integrating these two organizations was implementation of the Microsoft Dynamics 365 as the ERP system. The project was completed within the expected time & budget, what’s more – the system was also successfully expanded. Agata Skowrońska-Domańska, CFO and Board Member at Archicom S.A. ECHO Investment Group, will explain why the organizations decided to create an ecosystem of business apps around the ERP using a low-code platform and how this approach proved to be beneficial.

During the session you’ll learn:

  • why it is a good idea to “encapsulate” an ERP system with external business apps, instead of expanding the system itself,
  • what business processes have been automated around Microsoft Dynamics 365,
  • what the company’s core business application is and how it enables effective management of the entire development project process, including project management, contracts, tenderings, site safety and much more.
