The ESPC week of networking, exchanging experiences and learning on the theme of organizational change is now a great memory. WEBCON had the honor to actively support this largest SharePoint community event in Europe for the fifth time.
This year’s European SharePoint Community get-together took place in the very heart of the initiative, Ireland. The agenda was full to the brim with inspiring sessions by top-class professionals.
The opening keynote session was delivered by none other than the ‘Father of SharePoint’ himself, Microsoft’s Jeff Teper. Addressing almost 1700 guests from across Europe and the globe, at what is a hugely exciting and fast-moving time in the space, Jeff focused on how to accelerate your digital transformation with SharePoint and OneDrive.
The highlight of Day 2 – apart from a number of interesting sessions – was the ESPC Black & White party at the Guinness Storehouse. An evening of amazing entertainment, fun and connecting with old and new colleagues and friends was enjoyed by over 700 participants.
At the closing of the conference on Day 3, next year’s ESPC location was announced. In November 2018, all SharePoint Superheroes will meet in Copenhagen, Denmark.
WEBCON’s experts bring insight to Dublin
As the main partner, WEBCON presented two expert sessions for professionals from the IT and business world, both addressing the aspect of creating workflow & business applications in the light of this year’s theme of this year’s conference: change management.
On day two, WEBCON's Senior Consultant, Michal Rykiert pointed the audience to look beyond the enthusiasm and see the cloud with a more realistic approach. His session: Journey to the Cloud and Back – Looking Beyond the Horizon discussed the multifaceted issue of cloud, hybrid and on-premises, based on most common usage scenarios.
On day three, WEBCON’s CBDO Lukasz Wrobel demonstrated how to escape the dread of change management in business applications. His session Designing Workflows & Forms – How to Avoid Change Management Backfire showcased the best practices for developing future-proof business applications based on workflows and forms. Lukasz discussed, among others, managing long-running workflow instances, user-friendly customization of forms, benefits of standardization, reusability and touched on the immortal issue: code vs no-code.
The attendance during the sessions was very high, as were the notes for the speakers, which proved that Lukasz and Michal brought much needed food for thought to the community regarding the hottest topics of the event.
The SharePoint superhero spirit was there!
In between sessions, our booth no. 77 at the heart of the Convention Center in Dublin teemed with action. Our team met dozens of inspiring IT professionals and had the opportunity to share experiences and ideas. Of course WEBCON booth wouldn’t be the same without live demos showcasing how to build and modify business applications with instant results, during which our experts were answering in-depth all technical questions related to WEBCON BPS. All attendees who took part in at least one of WEBCON expert sessions and visited our booth got a guaranteed glow-in-the-dark WEBCON T-shirt.
This year, WEBCON also hosted a very special ESPC Chillout Zone with 15 deckchairs for SharePoint Superheroes, including Jeff Tepper, the father of SharePoint himself, to kick up their feet and relax!
