Growing community of WEBCON BPS professionals

WEBCON Academy was established in response to the needs of our clients and partners. Facing the growing awareness of the need to develop and implement a digital transformation strategy, many organizations around the world have chosen WEBCON BPS as a key tool for digitization and automation of business processes. But the right tool is not everything – it is just as important to understand how to use its capabilities to achieve the best possible results.

WEBCON Academy courses are conducted in the form of lectures, workshops and supervised work of the participants. Each training course has been designed to convey knowledge and best practices in a way that allows the practical use of acquired skills immediately after completing the training. Participants not only know how the individual elements of the WEBCON BPS platform work, but also when – and why – specific functionalities should be used.

The training program was developed by WEBCON’s experts who help organizations digitize and automate their business processes on a daily basis – therefore, we are sure that it is perfectly adapted to the real needs of companies planning to accelerate their digital transformation. That’s not only our opinion – we have noticed that the number of participants has doubled year-on-year. What is even more important, though, is that over these two years, we not only observed an increase in the number of participants in the basic courses – from 150 in 2020 to almost 250 in 2021 – but also a 100% increase in the number of people taking part in advanced and expert trainings.

The growing interest in courses of various advancement levels proves that there are more and more certified specialists on the market who have the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively implement the WEBCON BPS platform, and run complex projects based on the solution.

There was always something not quite right, but this changed when he learned about WEBCON BPS in 2018. It marks the second time he changed his primary development platform to deliver faster and better results.

Marcin Grotowski – A graduate of the WIT under the auspices of the Polish Academy of Sciences, specializing in Business Process Engineering. For 7 years his career focus was process modeling and software development using the WEBCON BPS platform. For the last 3 years he has been associated with the TLS industry, previously FMCG. He gained his knowledge during many courses, consultations, seminars and completed projects. Extensive knowledge in the field of IT allows him to effectively create solutions based on Low-Code, RPA and Integration.

Markus Jenni – Markus developed an affinity for IT during his apprenticeship as an electronics technician and graduation as electronics engineer. He has been working for Nexplore AG, Thun, Switzerland since 1998; initially as a web developer, later as a SharePoint developer. He has been implementing solutions with WEBCON BPS since 2017. Outside work he enjoys endurance sports i.e. cycling, running, cross-country skiing.

Martin Meze – Martin helps companies from all industries leverage low-code solutions on their digital transformation journey. Razvan Ogrezeanu – A young entrepreneur, an eager consultant, passionate about technology, and most importantly, applying it to the needs of the customers. His opinion is that technology is excellent tool humanity has at its disposal, but until the “low code” era, it was a very complex and expensive tool to use. Technology should help everybody accomplish their day-to-day tasks without many distractions or without being complicated to use. Innovation is more than just creating innovative technology; it is also about implementing it seamlessly and integrating it with all existing systems.

Sebastian Gębuś – IT specialist with several years of experience. For over two years he has been dealing mainly with the maintenance and development of applications built with WEBCON BPS. He believes that nothing is impossible and that every problem can be solved. Why do low-code projects fail? 4 common reasons

Low-code tools certainly have many benefits, however, far too many organizations try to use these platforms expecting magic to occur. Why the disconnect?

The latest article written by our very own Mike Fitmzaurice on “4 Common Reasons Low-code Projects Fail”. The article has been published on InformationWeek.com.

Nowadays, many organizations have begun adopting low-code platforms in response to the assertion that their employees can create applications without having to code like a developer – in the spirit of the so-called Citizen Development approach. At the same time, 64% of IT professionals have also stared leveraging low-code as their go-to, work-around development solution.

However, while low-code tools certainly have many benefits, far too many organizations try to use them expecting magic to happen – and instead meet with mixed results or failure. Check out the latest article written by Mike Fitzmaurice and find out what are the 4 common reasons low-code projects fail.

High Tech Low Code podcast: Low-code with Mike Fitzmaurice

Who benefits the most from low-code: citizen developers or IT specialists? According to our VP North America, Mike Fitzmaurice, it depends on what you think “to benefit” means. Do you think that the most important thing is the delivery time or the usefulness of the delivered application? Or maybe something else?

Truth is, in the times when there is still a shortage of professional developers who would take care of the implementations, delivery and maintenance of IT solutions, low-code is a real lifesaver. But as low-code technology grows in popularity, there’s also a temptation to bypass the IT.

The world is benefiting more from low-code when it is used by people who know what they’re doing than by people who just experiment.“ – Mike Fitzmaurice

However, being a good citizen developer and building a good, useful, and future-proof application requires more than just a good tool – low code in this case. You need to be able to properly plan management, deployment, user education, IT education, maintenance purposes, security… You get the picture. That’s why in order to become a good citizen developer, you need to think like, well, a developer. Even if you’re not one.

Low-code development is still development. And it’s worth remembering that low-code does not equal citizen development – it is much bigger than that.

Listen to the latest episode of “High Tech – Low Code” podcast in which Tiago Neves, CEO of OutSprint, and host of the podcast, Mário Cunha, talk with our very own Mike Fitzmaurice.

What’s in it for you?

  • What the developer mindset is and do we need it when we use low-code…
  • What is a “happy path” and why is it not the only one we need?
  • Why if something is built with low-code you shouldn’t consider it “one and done”?
  • Are low-code platforms the silver bullets for many IT-related issues – or do they just generate more problems?

…and more!

WEBCON hosts a webinar featuring Forrester’s Principal Analyst on Future of Low-Code Development

Forrester’s VP & Principal Analyst, Rob Koplowitz, and Mike Fitzmaurice, VP North America at WEBCON, held an insightful webinar on low-code technology, and why they think it’s a future of business process applications development.

The main component of digital transformation strategy is being able to build the applications you need when you need them – and to be sure they’ll be useful, quickly delivered, and continuously improved. What’s the best tool then? According to the top-class experts – low-code platform is the best answer.

But not every way of using low-coded works equally well. So how to use them in order to receive the best possible outcome? Rob Koplowitz has spent a lot of time and effort on this topic, and has plenty of suggestions on the subject.
